About Etti Aslan

Etti Aslan brings together in her paintings the love for the outdoors and passion for art. Her work has won numerous local and national awards.

Inspired by the impressionist style, she produces landscape paintings in oil, pastel, and mixed media. She starts her creative process by going into nature to find exciting sites, which she sketches and captures on film. Later, she develops several compositions of the location, looking for the right balance between abstract shapes and color.

In her landscapes, she strives to accentuate the contrast between soft and strong lines in combination with dark and light values; for example presenting solid rocks against soft and moving water, or sunlight against cool shadows. Her favorite is the morning light. She feels it conveys a sense of energy, hope, and new beginning.

Her paintings have been presented in many exhibitions and solo shows. They can also be found in numerous private collections.
